DEPUTY PROJECT MANAGER (can speak Chinese is required) - SRI AMAN

Job Responsibilities
Assist the Project Manager in the overall planning, coordination and execution of the project
Monitor daily site activities and project progress to ensure works are carried out according to approved plans
and schedules
Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers
Monitor project schedule, manpower, materials, equipment and resources
Ensure construction works comply with drawings, specifications, quality standards and contractual requirements
Review and coordinate method statements, work programmes and project documentation
Identify potential delays, technical issues and project risks and recommend appropriate solutions
Assist in managing Variation Orders (VO), Extension of Time (EOT), claims and other contractual matters
Attend site meetings, progress meetings and coordination meetings
Monitor subcontractors’ performance and ensure works are completed according to the required standards
and schedule
Coordinate with the QS and Contract Manager on commercial and contractual matters
Work closely with the Safety and QA/QC teams to ensure compliance with project requirements
Prepare and submit progress reports and project updates to the Project Manager and management
Assist the Project Manager in resolving site issues and ensuring smooth project execution
Perform other duties assigned by the Project Manager or management
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related field
Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in construction or engineering projects
Proven experience in project management and site operations
Strong knowledge of construction methods, project planning and contract requirements
Experience in managing project schedules, manpower, materials and equipment
Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications and project documentation
Strong leadership, communication, coordination and problem-solving skills
Able to coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and MS Project or other project management software
Good command of English and Chinese; Bahasa Malaysia is an advantage
Able to work independently, manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines
Willing to work at project sites and travel when required
