QUANTITY SURVEYOR (QS)

QUANTITY SURVEYOR (QS) (can speak Chinese is required)
Sarawak Kuching GALA CITY ,SRI AMAN, BAU)
Job Responsibilities:
Prepare quantity take-offs, cost estimates and Bills of Quantities (BQ)
Prepare and review tender documents, quotations and cost comparisons
Monitor project costs and ensure expenditure is within the approved budget
Prepare and evaluate Variation Orders (VO)
Prepare and submit payment applications and progress claims
Evaluate subcontractors’ and suppliers’ claims and payment applications
Assist in managing EOT, contractual claims and final accounts
Review construction drawings, specifications and contract documents
Conduct site measurements and verify completed works
Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers on commercial and contractual matters
Maintain proper records of quantities, costs, claims, variations and payments
Prepare regular cost reports and commercial reports for management
Assist the Contract Manager and Project Manager with contract and commercial matters
Perform other duties assigned by management 
Requirements:
Minimum Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field 
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related field
Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in the construction or engineering industry
Experience in quantity measurement, costing, tendering and contract administration
Familiar with Variation Orders (VO), Extension of Time (EOT), claims and payment applications
Able to read and understand construction drawings, specifications and contract documents
Good knowledge of construction materials, rates and cost estimation
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Knowledge of AutoCAD / measurement software is an advantage
Good command of English and Chinese; Bahasa Malaysia is an advantage
Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills
Able to work independently and meet deadlines
Willing to work at project sites when required
