Job Summary:
A Safety and Health Officer (SHO) in Malaysia ensures workplace compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA 1994). SHO conduct regular site inspections, enforce HIRARC risk assessments, and investigate workplace accidents.

Core Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full adherence to DOSH regulations, including acting as the primary liaison during DOSH inspections and audits.
Risk Management: Conduct Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control (HIRARC) protocols to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
Incident Reporting: Investigate workplace accidents, perilous incidents, and occupational diseases, preparing detailed incident reports for management and relevant authorities.
Safety Training: Design and execute safety awareness campaigns, toolbox briefings, and emergency response training to cultivate a proactive safety culture.
Safety Inspections: Perform routine site audits, monitor compliance with environmental and health standards

Mandatory Qualifications
Registration: Must be officially registered as a competent SHO with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) and hold a valid "Green Book".
Education: Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or a closely related environmental/science field.
Experience: Typically requires 2 to 5 years of related professional OSH experience, especially in high-risk sectors 
Competencies: Strong working knowledge of Malaysian safety legislation, excellent incident investigation capability, and the ability to effectively communicate with internal staff and external regulators.
