Key Responsibilities
- Handle and review full sets of accounts for assigned group companies and ensure timely and accurate month-end closing.
- Review accounting entries, ledgers, reconciliations, and supporting documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Prepare and monitor cash flow and fund flow reports, including cash position, payment planning, and funding requirements.
- Prepare monthly management reports, financial analysis, and variance analysis for management review.
- Perform inter-company reconciliations and work closely with subsidiaries to resolve discrepancies and outstanding balances.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external parties, including auditors, tax agents, bankers, and company secretaries, on finance and accounting matters.
- Monitor the financial performance of assigned companies and highlight significant variances, financial risks, and unusual transactions to management.
- Review and enhance accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting practices to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting team members and assist the Finance & Accounts Manager in managing group finance activities.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience for degree holders; Diploma holders with more than 5 years of relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.
- Hands-on experience in full set accounts, month-end closing, account reconciliation, and financial reporting.
- Experience in group or multi-company accounting and inter-company transactions will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and Malaysian statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with SST, e-Invoice, taxation, and audit matters will be an added advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple entities and competing deadlines, and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with auditors, tax agents, bankers, suppliers, and internal departments.
