PROJECT MANAGER (can speak Chinese is required) - Sarawak Kuching bau
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related field
Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in construction, civil engineering or infrastructure projects, w ith proven experience in a Project Manager role
Strong experience in overall project management, construction planning and site operations
Strong knowledge of construction methods, project scheduling, contract requirements and project management
Experience in managing manpower, materials, machinery, subcontractors and project resources
Familiar with Variation Orders (VO), Extension of Time (EOT), claims and contractual matters
Strong leadership, decision-making, communication and problem-solving skills
Able to manage and coordinate Project Engineers, Construction Manager, Production Manager, QS, Site Supervisors and subcontractors
Able to communicate and negotiate effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers
Proficient in Microsoft Office, MS Project or other project management software
Good command of English and Chinese; Bahasa Malaysia is an advantage
Able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Willing to work at project sites and travel when required
Job Responsibilities
Take overall responsibility for the planning, management and successful delivery of the project
Lead and manage the project team to ensure works are completed according to the approved schedule, budget, quality and contractual requirements
Develop and monitor project schedules, work programmes and construction plans
Oversee daily construction and site operations
Coordinate with Construction Manager, Production Manager, Engineers, QS, Contract Manager, Site Supervisors and subcontractors
Manage and monitor manpower, materials, machinery, equipment and other project resources
Monitor project progress, productivity, costs and overall performance
Identify and resolve technical, operational, contractual and project-related issues
Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and relevant authorities
Lead and attend project meetings, site meetings and progress meetings
Review and approve relevant method statements, work programmes, reports and project documentation
Monitor and manage Variation Orders (VO), EOT, claims and other contractual matters
Work closely with the QS and Contract Manager on commercial and contractual matters
Ensure compliance with quality, safety, environmental and project requirements
Monitor subcontractors’ performance and ensure works are completed according to the required standards and schedule
Prepare and submit weekly and monthly project progress reports to management
Manage project risks and implement appropriate mitigation and corrective actions
Ensure the project is delivered within the approved time, cost and quality requirements
Provide regular updates and recommendations to senior management
Perform other duties assigned by management
