CONSTRUCTION MANAGER (Sarawak Kuching bau)
Salary: Negotiable
Job Responsibilities
Manage and supervise the overall construction activities at the project site
Plan, coordinate and monitor daily construction works and site operations
Ensure construction activities are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, method statements
and project schedules
Monitor project progress, manpower, materials, machinery and resources
Coordinate with Project Manager, Engineers, QS, Production Manager, Site Supervisors and subcontractors
Supervise and monitor the performance of subcontractors and site teams
Ensure works are completed according to the required quality, safety and schedule standards
Identify and resolve site issues, technical problems and construction delays
Review and coordinate work programmes, method statements and construction plans
Attend and participate in site meetings, progress meetings and coordination meetings
Coordinate with consultants and clients on construction and technical matters
Monitor the proper use and availability of construction materials, machinery and equipment
Work closely with the QA/QC and Safety teams to ensure compliance with project requirements
Assist in managing Variation Orders (VO), Extension of Time (EOT), claims and other contractual matters
Prepare and submit daily, weekly and monthly construction progress reports
Ensure all construction activities comply with HSE, quality and environmental requirements
Assist the Project Manager in achieving project targets, schedule and overall project completion
Perform other duties assigned by the Project Manager or management
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field
Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in construction, civil engineering or infrastructure projects
Proven experience in construction management and site operations
Strong knowledge of construction methods, site management and project execution
Able to read and understand construction drawings, specifications and contract documents
Experience in managing manpower, materials, machinery and subcontractors
Strong leadership, communication, coordination and problem-solving skills
Able to coordinate effectively with Project Managers, Engineers, Consultants, Subcontractors and Suppliers
Good knowledge of construction safety, quality control and site procedures
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
Good command of English and Chinese; Bahasa Malaysia is an advantage
Able to work under pressure and meet project deadlines
Willing to work at project sites and travel when required.
