
PAYROLL ASSISTANT MANAGER - KUCHING (HQ)
Responsibilities:
Assist in managing end-to-end payroll processing for estate employees, ensuring timely and accurate salary preparation and disbursement.
Verify employee master data, attendance records, piece rate inputs, overtime, and allowances before submission for final approval.
Ensure compliance with labour regulations, statutory contributions (EPF/SOCSO/EIS), tax requirements, and internal company policies.
Provide support, guidance, and training to payroll clerks and staff.
Coordinate with Estate Managers and HR teams to ensure timely submission and clarification of payroll related information.
Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and assist in payroll audits.
Support continuous improvements for payroll systems, processes, and internal controls.
Maintain confidentiality and ensure accuracy of payroll records at all times.
Requirements:
Diploma/Degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3-5 years of payroll experience; experience in plantation operations is an advantage.
Strong understanding of estate labour practices, piece-rate systems, and statutory requirements.
Proficient in payroll systems and Microsoft Excel.
High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Leadership qualities with the ability to supervise, mentor, and develop payroll staff.
Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
