Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the accounting functions for assigned companies/business units.
- Handle and review full sets of accounts, including general ledger, AP, AR and cash book.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing activities and ensure timely completion.
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Perform financial analysis and investigate significant variances and discrepancies.
- Monitor cash flow, receivables, payables and other key financial matters.
- Review reconciliations, journals and supporting schedules prepared by junior accounting staff.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents, banks and other external parties.
- Assist in annual audit, tax compliance and statutory reporting requirements.
- Ensure accounting records and financial information are accurate, complete and properly supported.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls and reporting procedures.
- Provide guidance and support to Accounts Assistants and Accounts Executives.
- Assist the Accountant/Finance Manager in financial and operational matters.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Minimum 4–6 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong experience in handling full sets of accounts.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Able to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Good communication skills and ability to work with internal and external stakeholders.
- Professional accounting qualification or progress towards ACCA, MIA, CIMA or CPA will be an advantage.
