RESIDENT ENGINEER - Kuching
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and monitor daily construction activities to ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and relevant standards.
Ensure construction quality complies with project specifications, engineering standards, and applicable regulations.
Review contractor's work progress and verify that works are completed according to the approved programme.
Coordinate with the Client, Consultants, Contractors, and relevant authorities on technical matters and project implementation.
Conduct regular site inspections and identify non-conformance, defects, or construction issues, ensuring corrective actions are implemented promptly.
Review and certify site reports, inspection records, material submissions, method statements, and other technical documentation.
Chair or attend site progress meetings and prepare technical recommendations where required.
Monitor compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) requirements and promote a safe working environment on site.
Assist in testing, commissioning, inspections, and handover activities.
Ensure timely reporting of project progress, risks, delays, and technical issues to Management.
Maintain proper project documentation, records, and correspondence throughout the project lifecycle.
Liaise with utility providers, government agencies, and statutory authorities when required.
Perform any other duties assigned by Management from time to time.
Requirements
Related with Mechanical/Civil Engineering
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in construction supervision, project management, or consultancy. Experience in infrastructure, civil engineering, building, or construction projects. Strong understanding of engineering drawings, construction contracts, specifications, and site management
