ACCOUNTANT

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Accountant who can independently manage a full set of accounts and provide accurate, timely and meaningful financial information to Management.

The successful candidate should be comfortable taking ownership of month-end closing, management reporting, budgeting, cash-flow monitoring, statutory compliance, audit and tax coordination and the overall accuracy of the company’s financial records.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage a complete set of accounts independently, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, journals, accruals and month-end closing.
Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and supporting schedules.
Prepare budgets, cash-flow forecasts, variance analysis and other financial reports for Management.
Maintain accurate project-related accounting records and monitor project costs, billing, collections and outstanding receivables.
Perform and review bank, supplier, debtor and other balance-sheet reconciliations.
Coordinate year-end audit, taxation and statutory reporting matters with external auditors, tax agents and other professional advisers.
Ensure financial records and supporting documentation are complete, properly maintained and audit-ready.
Monitor compliance with applicable accounting, tax, SST and e-Invoice requirements.
Review accounting processes, identify discrepancies and recommend improvements to internal controls, accuracy and efficiency.
Liaise with banks, suppliers, customers, auditors, tax agents and Management on financial matters.
Work closely with Management and project teams to provide relevant financial information for decision-making.

REQUIREMENTS:

Sarawakian.
Degree in Accounting, Finance or a relevant field.
Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience, including substantial hands-on experience preparing full sets of accounts.
Good working knowledge of Malaysian accounting, audit and taxation requirements.
Practical experience liaising directly with auditors and tax agents.
Experience with accounting software; QNE experience would be an advantage.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong attention to detail, analytical ability and problem-solving skills.
Able to identify accounting discrepancies and resolve issues independently.
Organised, responsible and able to meet reporting deadlines with minimal supervision.

REMUNERATION:

Salary: RM4,500 onwards.
Final remuneration will be commensurate with candidates with stronger relevant experience, proven capability and the ability to manage the accounting function independently.
