BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Government & Strategic Accounts (Sarawak & Brunei)
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with a proven ability to identify, develop and secure new business opportunities, with particular focus on Government and strategic accounts.
This role is suited to a commercially driven individual who is confident opening doors, engaging senior decision-makers, developing opportunities from an early stage and converting prospects into profitable projects.
The successful candidate should have strong market knowledge, an established professional network and a demonstrable track record in business development within Interior Design & Build, fit-out, exhibitions, construction, architecture or a closely related industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identify, develop and qualify new business opportunities across Sarawak and Brunei.
Proactively build a pipeline of potential projects rather than relying solely on incoming enquiries.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with Sarawak Government ministries, departments, statutory bodies, agencies, GLCs and other key decision-makers.
Develop strategic accounts and long-term relationships with selected corporate and institutional clients.
Monitor upcoming Government and strategic projects, tenders, market activity and relevant procurement opportunities.
Understand prospective clients’ project requirements and identify suitable opportunities for IMPACT.
Coordinate with the design, estimating and project teams to develop commercially competitive proposals.
Lead client presentations, negotiations and follow-up through to project award.
Maintain an accurate opportunity pipeline and provide meaningful sales forecasts and progress updates to Management.
Develop strategic partnerships, referral channels and other sources of new business.
Ensure opportunities pursued are commercially viable and aligned with the company’s objectives, capabilities and profitability targets.
REQUIREMENTS:
Sarawakian.
Minimum 8 years’ working experience in Sarawak, with established exposure to Sarawak Government ministries, departments, statutory bodies, agencies and GLCs.
Proven business development or sales experience in Interior Design & Build, fit-out, exhibitions, construction, architecture or a closely related project-based industry.
Demonstrable track record of personally identifying, developing and securing new projects or accounts.
Established professional network within Sarawak, particularly within Government, statutory bodies, agencies and GLCs.
Experience handling strategic or key accounts would be an added advantage.
Exposure to Brunei and an established business network there would be an added advantage.
Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and closing skills.
Commercially aware, with a practical understanding of project value, margins, competition and profitability.
Self-driven, resourceful and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong planning, follow-up and reporting discipline.
Willing to travel within Sarawak and Brunei when required.
REMUNERATION:
Salary range: RM6,000 - RM8,000.
Commission / performance incentives.
Final remuneration will be commensurate with experience, industry network, track record and demonstrated ability to secure profitable business.
