
LABORATORY/QAQC ENGINEER/ LAB TECHNICIAN
Betong, Sarawak
Testing and Analysis:
Carry out Field Density Tests (FDT) for earthworks, embankment, subgrade, sub-base, road base, and DCR in accordance with project specifications and relevant standards.
Perform laboratory tests on soil, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials as required by the project.
Execute all QAQC testing in accordance with instructions from the Project Consultant / Resident Engineer (RE) and the Project Quality Assurance Plan (QAP).
Document and report test results accurately and promptly.
Quality Control:
Monitor and inspect production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.
To ensure the testing was conduct rightfully and benefitting the company according to specifications and Project Quality Assurance Plan.
To provide and prepare all summary testing by monthly recurrence to Resident Engineer for reporting.
To prepare all testing approval chit (testing approval chit will be separated from work progress approval chit, for easy filing and reference in the future)
Equipment Maintenance:
Arrange calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of tests, analyses, and quality control activities.
Prepare and submit reports to management as required.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related field (for Engineer role).
Diploma or equivalent certification in a relevant field (for Technician role).
Experience:
Previous experience in a laboratory or QAQC role is preferred.
Familiarity with laboratory equipment and testing methods.
Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in using laboratory software and tools.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Certifications:
Relevant certifications are a plus.Competency or training in field and laboratory testing methods (FDT, soil testing, concrete testing)
