SAFETY AND HEALTH OFFICER (Based in Lawas)
Requirements:
Must possess a valid Yellow Book (Registered Safety and Health Officer)
At least 3 years relevant experience in construction safety supervision or management
Good knowledge of OSHA 1994 and OSHA (Amendment) 2022, FMA and other relevant regulations
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Safety and Health Management System accordance with legal and project requirements.
Conduct risk assessments, safety inspection, and site audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Conduct Toolbox meetings, Safety briefings, and training session for all workers and subcontractors.
Liaise with clients, consultants and government bodies regarding safety-related matters.
Ensure proper usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and enforce site safety rules and regulations
Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement in health and safety performance.
Establish and enforce Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems for high-risk activities
Monitor and evaluate compliance with safety requirements for machinery, scaffolding, electrical installation and lifting operations
Develop, implement, and maintain HIRARC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control) tools and procedures
Ensure competency and awareness among workers and supervisors regarding their safety responsibilities
Maintain the Safety and Health file including all procedures, risk assessments and records
To prepare and submit monthly safety reports
Keep up-to-date with legal requirements and recommend updates to company policies when necessary
Chair or coordinate Safety and Health Committee meetings as required
Advise Project Manager and management on all safety and health matters
Supervise the Site Safety Supervisor and ensure effective implementation of safety programs at all work fronts
