HALAL EXECUTIVE

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee and manage all new applications, renewals, and extensions for Halal certification via the official e-Halal system.
• Serve as the primary liaison officer with JAKIM / JAIN and relevant food safety authorities.
• Maintain and update the company’s Halal Assurance System (HAS) manual and related documentation.
• Lead preparation workflows for all external regulatory audits and inspections.
• Review and verify supplier Halal certificates, ingredient specifications, and raw material documentation to ensure compliance.
• Act as the secretariat for the Internal Halal Committee, keeping accurate meeting minutes and compliance logs according to JAKIM guidelines.
• Food Safety Support: Assist in aligning documentation with basic food safety standards (GMP/HACCP) from a Halal perspective.
• Assist management in aligning company documentation with basic food safety standards (MESTI/GMP/HACCP) from a Halal perspective.

REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma or Degree in Halal Management, Food Science, Shariah, Food Technology, or a related field.
• Certified Halal Executive (CHE) status from a JAKIM-approved training body is a must.
• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience dealing with e-Halal submissions and JAKIM/JAIN certification processes.
• Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and online government/regulatory portal navigation.
• Deep understanding of Malaysian Halal standards (MPPHM and MS 1500).
• Excellent communication skills in both Bahasa Malaysia and English to effectively deal with authorities and internal management.
• Meticulous, well-organized, and able to manage strict documentation deadlines independently.
