Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and responsible HR Executive to manage and coordinate day-to-day human resource operations for our estate and mill operations in Bintulu, Sarawak. The role will cover recruitment, employee relations, payroll coordination, foreign worker administration, HR documentation, training and labour compliance.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, employee confirmation, transfers, resignations and clearance.
- Monitor attendance, leave, workers’ payroll inputs and employee benefits, working closely with estate and mill administration teams to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
- Handle employee enquiries and grievances, assist with disciplinary matters, and escalate cases to Management where necessary.
- Monitor and compile KPI reports, track performance against established targets, and highlight shortfalls and proposed corrective actions to Management.
- Prepare HR correspondence, reports and internal memorandum.
- Implement approved HR policies and monitor compliance with applicable labour requirements and company procedures.
- Coordinate foreign workers’ recruitment, arrival, deployment, contract renewal and repatriation with the relevant departments.
- Monitor foreign workers’ passport validity, work permits validity, insurance and other required documentation, ensuring timely renewals and follow-up.
- Liaise with relevant government agencies and service providers on HR and foreign worker matters.
- Monitor worker welfare, accommodation records and related documentation in coordination with estate and mill personnel.
- Coordinate training arrangements and maintain training records.
- Support labour inspections and internal or external audits, including document preparation and follow-up on corrective actions.
- Coordinate company events, including the annual dinner, annual golf tournament and festive celebrations.
- Provide regular updates to Management on HR matters and foreign worker status.
- Perform any other duties and ad hoc assignments as directed by Management.
Requirements
- Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or a related field.
- Minimum 4–5 years of relevant HR experience; plantation or palm oil mill experience is an advantage.
- Knowledge of Sarawak Labour Ordinance and immigration requirements, payroll and statutory contributions.
- Good English communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Independent, organized and able to handle confidential information.
- Willing to work in an estate environment.
