FINANCE AND ACCOUNTS MANAGER - Kuching
Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee the overall finance and accounting functions of the Company, ensuring accurate and timely
financial reporting.
Manage the full set of accounts, including general ledger, account reconciliations, consolidation, and
month-end/year-end closing.
Prepare and review management accounts, budgets, financial forecasts, cash flow projections, and statutory
financial statements.
Monitor project costing, development expenditure, construction costs, and project profitability to ensure
effective cost control.
Oversee cash flow management, treasury functions, and funding requirements for property development and
construction projects.
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, statutory requirements, and company
policies.
Liaise with banks, external auditors, tax consultants, company secretaries, solicitors, and relevant government
authorities on financial, taxation, and regulatory matters.
Coordinate project financing, loan drawdowns, progress billings, end-financier documentation, and related
banking facilities.
Establish, review, and enhance internal controls, financial systems, and accounting processes to improve
operational efficiency and mitigate financial risks.
Provide financial analysis, business insights, and strategic recommendations to support management in project
evaluation, investment decisions, and business planning.
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team to achieve departmental objectives.
Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management from time to time.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ICAEW, or
equivalent).
Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
Prior experience in the property development and/or construction industry is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of MFRS, Malaysian tax regulations, SST, and statutory compliance.
Experience in project accounting, cost control, project financing, and cash flow management.
Familiarity with Housing Development Act (HDA) accounting, developer licensing requirements, and progress
billing processes is an added advantage.
Strong analytical, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
