FINANCE & ACCOUNTS MANAGER

FINANCE & ACCOUNTS MANAGER (LOCATION: KUCHING)
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee the full spectrum of finance and accounting functions
Ensure timely preparation of monthly management accounts, financial statements, and board-level reporting in compliance with MFRS
Drive cash flow management, budgeting, and financial planning
Implement and maintain robust internal controls, policies, and governance processes
Oversee tax compliance (corporate tax, SST) and manage relationships with tax agents and auditors
Partner with management to provide commercial insights, cost control, and margin analysis
Monitor and manage working capital, credit control, and supplier payment cycles
Support contract review and assess financial and risk implications of commercial arrangements
Manage, coach and mentor the finance team 
Partner with cross-functional teams to identify, investigate and resolve accounting issues and discrepancies in a   timely manner
Lead external audit engagements, ensuring timely preparation and submission of audit schedules and statutory   deliverables
Requirements:
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
Professional qualification (ACCA / CPA / MIA) strongly preferred
Minimum 5–8 years’ experience, including at least 2–3 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity
Strong working knowledge of Malaysian financial reporting standards and tax framework
Experience in SME, logistics, transport, trading, or asset-heavy industries is advantageous
Proven ability to improve processes, implement controls, and drive financial discipline
Commercially minded with the ability to engage management and influence decisions
High integrity, strong ownership mindset, and attention to detail
