PROJECT CONTROLS OFFICER- Kuching
Role Purpose
The Project Controls Officer role supports TPEA’s project controls function across planning, reporting, cost control,
commercial records, engineering delivery tracking, dashboards, document control, registers, and procedures.
Successful candidates will not be locked into one narrow area at the beginning. Instead, they will be exposed to the
full project controls cycle before being allocated primary and backup responsibilities based on capability, performance,
and business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning and Reporting
Support weekly and monthly project reporting.
Compile daily and weekly project information.
Support schedule progress records and lookahead reporting.
Assist with planned versus actual progress tracking.
Prepare draft report sections for review.
Assist with planning commentary and reporting narratives.
Meeting Records and Action Tracking
Prepare draft meeting minutes.
Maintain action registers.
Follow up overdue actions.
Track decisions, issues, and required responses.
Maintain organised meeting records for future reference.
Cost and Commercial Data
Support monthly cost report preparation.
Assist with budget, actual cost, committed cost, forecast cost, and cashflow data.
Maintain commercial registers.
Assist with progress claim data checking.
Maintain variation, NOD, EOT, and claim registers.
Support tender comparison tables and clarification records.
Engineering and Delivery Support
Maintain engineering deliverable registers.
Track technical queries, RFIs, TQs, and project actions.
Support engineering progress reporting.
Assist with procurement and construction interface tracking.
Follow up overdue technical information.
Maintain package status trackers.
Data, Systems and Documentation
Maintain project databases and structured records.
Support Excel and Power BI dashboards.
Assist with reporting automation and data checking.
Maintain document control records and version control.
Support the procedure library and standard templates.
Maintain lessons learned registers.
Quality and Procedure Development
Check project data for completeness and accuracy.
Identify missing information, incorrect data, and unclear project records.
Follow approved project controls procedures.
Document work steps as procedures.
Help improve workflows, templates, and reporting quality over time.

Preferred Skills
Advanced Excel, pivot tables and Power Query.
Power BI, dashboards, SQL, Python, VBA or database experience.
Report writing and project reporting.
Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project exposure.
Construction or engineering project exposure.
Presentation or public speaking experience.
