
IT SPECIALIST
Responsibilities :
Install, maintain, and update library management software.
Ensure cataloging, circulation, and user-access systems function properly.
Manage digital databases and electronic resources
Ensure accurate storage, retrieval, and backup of information.
Maintain computer networks, servers, and internet connectivity.
Troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
Protect library data from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
Implement security measures, backups, and recovery procedures.
Support digital collections, institutional repositories, and online services.
Assist with digitization projects and digital preservation.
Help library staff and users solve technology-related issues.
Conduct training on library technologies and digital tools.
Maintain the library website and online portals.
Ensure online resources are accessible and user-friendly.
Evaluate new technologies for library services.
Recommend and implement systems that improve information access and management.
Requirements :
Must possess at least a Diploma / Advanced / Higher / Graduate Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent field.
At least 1 – 2 years of related experience in IT department.
Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia (written & spoken).
Possess a valid driving license and own transport.
Willing to travel outstation.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Knowledge of cloud security practices and compliance standards.
Expertise in managing physical servers and networking.
Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
Knowledge of data storage solutions and management.
Skills in database design, optimization, and backup/recovery processes.
Experience with APIs and integration with other healthcare systems (HL7,FHIR).
Experience in implementing data encryption and access control measures.
Skills in configuring and maintaining network infrastructure.
Understanding of VPNs, firewalls, and secure data transmission protocols.
Experience in managing IT projects, including scope, budget, and timeline.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools ( Jira, Trello).
Skills in troubleshooting and resolving IT issues promptly.
Experience in developing support documentation and user training.
Ability to train laboratory staff on the LIS and associated technologies.
Experience in providing ongoing technical support and user education.
Strong interpersonal skills for working with laboratory personnel and stakeholders.
Ability to convey technical concept to non-technical users.
