CONSTRUCTION MANAGER - Kuching
Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day site operations to ensure works are executed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
Plan, organise, and supervise site resources including manpower, materials, and equipment.
Liaise with consultants, contractors, and relevant authorities to resolve technical and operational issues.
Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate closely with Head Office departments, particularly Quantity Surveying (QS) and Procurement, for:
o Materials requisition and delivery planning.
o Verification of site measurements, claims, and variation orders.
o Budget monitoring, cost control, and procurement schedules.
Monitor progress, quality of workmanship, and compliance with safety protocols.
Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports to management.
Identify risks, propose mitigation plans, and ensure timely rectification of non-conformances.
Maintain complete site records, QA/QC documentation, and correspondence for submission to consultants and clients or correspondence for audit and compliance purposes.
Coordinate with internal departments such as Sales, Marketing, and Admin for project milestone updates, site visits, and handover arrangements.
Requirements:-
Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Building, Construction Management, or equivalent.
Minimum 7 years of site management experience in building or infrastructure projects
Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
Familiar with project planning, cost control, and construction documentation.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple site activities effectively.
Knowledge of local authority requirements, building regulations, and safety standards in Sarawak
MBKS, DBKU, JKR, UPKJ).
Experience in handling site instructions (SI), variation orders (VO), and extension of time
EOT) documentation will be an advantage.
Good understanding of cost control, and progress claims.
Able to lead and motivate site teams effectively while maintaining high standards of quality and productivity.
Proficient in Microsoft Project and other relevant construction tools.
