Job Title: PROJECT ENGINEER
Location: Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary Range: RM3,300 – RM4,000 per month
The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising construction and
engineering activities to ensure successful project delivery. The role involves both office-based
management functions and on-site supervision to ensure work is completed safely, on time,
within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements and quality standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Office-Based Responsibilities
Project Planning and Coordination
Assist in the preparation of project schedules and work programs.
Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and the client.
Plan and organise manpower, materials, and equipment requirements.
Prepare and review method statements, shop drawings, and technical submissions.
Documentation and Administration
Assist in the preparation and filling of tender documents for tender submission.
Prepare project progress reports and presentations.
Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
Handle technical queries and Requests for Information (RFI).
Prepare correspondence, meeting minutes, and project records.
Assist in the compilation of required documents/evidence for ISO 9001 documentation
and audits.
Procurement and Cost Control
Assist in sourcing materials and subcontractors.
Prepare purchase requisitions and evaluate quotations.
Monitor project costs and budget utilization.
Assist in the preparation of claims, variations, and progress payments.
Quality and Compliance
Ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
Prepare quality control documentation and checklists.
Coordinate material approvals and testing requirements.
B. Site-Based Responsibilities
Construction Supervision
Supervise daily construction activities on site.
Ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings and specifications.
Monitor work progress and productivity.
Technical Implementation
Interpret construction drawings and technical details.
Resolve site technical issues and coordinate solutions.
Ensure correct construction methods are followed.
Verify site measurements and setting out works.
Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC)
Conduct regular site inspections.
Ensure workmanship meets required standards.
Implement QA/QC procedures on site.
Witness testing, inspection, and commissioning activities.
Safety Management
Enforce site safety rules and procedures.
Coordinate with safety officers on safety matters.
Ensure compliance with OSH and project safety requirements.
Progress Monitoring and Reporting
Track actual site progress against planned schedule.
Identify potential delays and propose corrective actions.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly site reports.
REQUIREMENTS:
Academic Qualification:
At least a Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University.
Minimum CGPA of 3.2 and above.
Other Qualifications:
CIDB Green Card.
Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) Registration.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6.
Basic knowledge and understanding of AutoCAD.

Years of Working Experience:
At least 3 years of working experience in a similar capacity.
Willingness to Travel:
Must be willing to travel for site inspections/visits & to attend trainings or courses outside of
Kuching, Sarawak, when required.
