OFFICER, SAFETY & HEALTH - Kuching
Job Summary:
Responsible for monitoring and maintaining the company’s safety and health standards. Assist in
planning and implementing HSE programs.
Job Description:
- Plan, coordinate and implement all HSE programs, training activities and related matters for the site.
- Liaise and work closely with relevant authorities, Fire Department, Department of Environment,
- DOE), Department of Occupational Safery & Health (DOSH) and other related departments.
- Develop, implement and review site HSE policies and procedures to meet company standards and local regulations.
- Ensure all the required documentation, hazard analysis and report to support HSE management system are sufficient and accordingly.
- Assist/lead the investigation of accidence, near misses, and dangerous occurrences as required.
- Conduct HIRARC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control) and Job Safety Analysis on work process as and when required.
- Plan and conduct HSE training/HSE briefing to employees and other personnel as necessary.
- Conduct regular site inspection to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented.
- Propose HSE improvement plans/corrective action to address non-conformances and monitor implementation status.
- Prepare monthly HSE Performance Report and other documentation and infrastructure in good status all the time.
- Ensure the hazardous waste management and environmental treatment equipment operation in safe manner and compliance local regulations.
- Liaise and coordinate with HQ on HSE initiatives, projects, meetings, and reporting activities
- Update, monitor, and execute Enablon system requirements and action plans
- Assist in other functions and roles whenever required by management.
Education & Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, or equivalent.
- Registered OSH Coordinator or equivalent qualification is an added advantage.
Relevant Experience & Years of Service:
- Minimum 2–5 years of working experience in a similar capacity, preferably in manufacturing or plant operations.
Technical Skills & Professional Knowledge:
- Good understanding of OSHA 1994, FMA 1967, and relevant Malaysian regulations.
- Knowledge of HIRARC, HAZOP, and environmental management systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Proficient in preparing HSE reports and maintaining documentation.
- Ability to conduct safety audits, investigations, and risk assessments.
