
SAFETY AND HEALTH OFFICER (1 POSITION)
JOB SCOPE
A. Safety & Health Management
Develop, implement, and review Safety & Health policies, procedures, and programs for the manufacturing plant.
Ensure compliance with DOSH, DOE and other local authorities’ requirements.
Maintain updated legal registers, risk assessments, and safety documentation.
B. Workplace Inspection & Audit
Conduct daily/weekly/monthly workplace inspections within production, warehouse, utilities, and supporting departments.
Carry out internal audits and support external audits.
C. Risk Assessment & Hazard Control
Perform Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC).
Recommend effective control measures and follow up on corrective & preventive actions.
D. Training & Awareness
Conduct safety induction for new employees and contractors.
Deliver toolbox talks and awareness training (PPE, chemical safety, emergency response, machine safety).
Coordinate external mandatory training such as First Aid, Fire Fighting, and others.
E. Incident Prevention & Investigation
Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions using root-cause analysis tools (5 Why, Fishbone).
Prepare incident reports and submit statutory notifications (JKKP 6/7/8) when required.
Monitor incident trends and implement preventive action plans.
F. Chemical Safety Management
Manage SDS, chemical registers, storage requirements, and chemical handling procedures.
Support CHRA (Chemical Health Risk Assessment) activities with registered hygienists.
Ensure proper labeling, ventilation, PPE use, and spill response readiness.
G. Emergency Preparedness
Maintain the Emergency Response Plan (ERP) and organize emergency drills.
Coordinate fire safety, evacuation procedures, and the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
Liaise with BOMBA & other emergency authorities when necessary.
H. Safety Committee & Reporting
Act as the secretary for the Safety & Health Committee.
Prepare monthly safety performance reports, statistics, and presentations for management review.
Monitor leading and lagging safety indicators (accident rate, NCR, audit findings, PPE usage).
