JOB ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support Training Execution
- Assist in delivering kitchen training sessions on SOPs, recipes, hygiene, safety, and workflow.
- Help conduct practical coaching for new hires, junior cooks, and staff during new menu rollouts.
- Ensure training materials and kitchen SOPs are prepared, updated, and followed accurately.
- Quality Assurance & Skill Building
- Monitor trainees’ skills and provide constructive feedback under the supervision of the Trainer Chef.
- Report any skills gaps or training challenges to the Trainer Chef for follow-up.
- Assist in preparing mise-en-place and setting up practice areas for skills assessments or workshops.
- Kitchen Standards & Operational Flow
- Support the Trainer Chef in conducting kitchen audits during outlet visits.
- Observe food preparation, storage, and plating consistency across locations and flag issues early.
- Help in collecting feedback from outlet kitchen teams and escalate concerns to the Trainer Chef.
- New Store Opening & Menu Launches
- Assist in the training prep for new outlet openings in Sarawak.
- Work closely with the operations team to provide on-site support during kitchen setup and staff onboarding.
- Cross-Functional Support
- Collaborate with Area Managers, Outlet Managers, and kitchen teams to align on product standards.
- Participate in discussions related to product improvement, training gaps, and SOP refinement.
- Others
- Undertake any additional duties as assigned by Management.
JOB / SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- Diploma or Degree in Culinary studies. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- At least 2 years proven experience in an assistant trainer chef role and preferable with 2 years’ experience in a chef role.
- Passionate and knowledgeable in Food preparation practice.
- Strong knowledge in various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and process.
- Well-versed in the operations of a kitchen.
- Good communication, well organize, time management and presentation skills
- Good team player and able to work with minimum supervision.
- Must possess own transport and willing to travel.
