
CIVIL & STRUCTURAL ENGINEER - Kuching
Job Responsibilities:
Collaborate with architects and other engineers on building design and construction.
Materials selection, evaluate materials and determining the most efficient and cost-effective materials for construction projects.
Coordinating with drafters to produce structural, foundation, and reinforcement detail drawings using AutoCAD.
Preparing and submitting design reports and blueprints to local authorities for building permits.
Assisting in preparation of technical specifications and material quantities.
Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and contract requirements.
Review and endorse method statements, shop drawings, and material submissions.
Monitor workmanship quality and ensure compliance with codes, standards, approvals, and safety requirements.
Liaising with architects, M&E engineers and surveyors to ensure the architectural layout integrates flawlessly with the structural framework.
Coordinates all the construction activities.
Conducting routine site visits to ensure construction is executed exactly according to approved design specifications.
Supervising structural testing (e.g., soil tests, concrete cube tests, resolving RFIs (Requests for Information) from contractors, and ensuring all Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards are met.
Identify defects, non-conformities, and technical risks; ensure timely rectification.
Monitor progress, report technical constraints, and support progress claims, variations, and EOT assessments.
Maintain site records, inspection reports, and technical documentation.
Perform any other ad-hoc duties as delegated.
Job Requirements:
Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
Registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) (where applicable).
Minimum 3 – 5 years relevant site supervision experience.
Strong knowledge of constructions methods, drawings, and specifications.
Familiar with quality management systems, safety, and statutory compliance.
Proven ability to manage site coordination and technical issues.
Possess a valid CIDB Green Card.
Perform any other ad-hoc duties as delegated.
